The City Council of Irvine awarded Shiva Farivar an “Outstanding Achievement Award” at their May 22nd City Council Meeting. The award is in recognition of Shiva’s excellent public service to the City of Irvine. As tribute to the honoree (Shiva), a plaque is permanently displayed on the “Wall of Recognition” at Colonel Bill Barber Marine Corps Memorial Park in Irvine, California. Ms. Farivar served as a Community Services Commissioner from 2007-2014 (including five years as Chair of the Commission). She also led the City’s Advisory Committee on the Strategic Plan for Children, Youth, and Families. Ms. Farivar has served as Vice Chair of the Iranian-American American Community Group of Orange County, and for the past five years and has directed the Nowruz Festival in Irvine.
